The top two left-most collages were made for a painting class I took, the first for the midterm, and the second one for the final. For both collages, I was tasked with trying to make a digital collage that explored space specifically and trying to create an environment out of abstract shapes and images. I was then tasked with translating those collages into paintings, both of which can be found on my + Paintings + page. The second painting (for the final) was about a part of my life where I was depressed and used weed in the form of escapism. I was back home for the summer and very lonely since my friends were studying abroad, and I was working at a restaurant that I hated. The collage and painting both represent my abuse of weed, along with my desire to use it to "escape" the environment I had found myself in. The first collage on the top left was more so for fun and just trying to create architecture and depth with the various objects and images I was using.
